01/15/2012 - I kept going back to this yarn over and over. Not sure why. I think the color and texture just called to me. I thought it would make a nice lacey sort of scarf. Later I found this pattern on ravelry and thought it would be a good match. We shall see!
01/17/2012 - Weighed my ball of yarn and I have 68 grams left. The yarn started at 100 grams - so I am about 1/3 of the way done knitting this. My scarf is about 14 inches long so far - unstretched - so I am guestimating I will have a 3 1/2 foot scarf when I finish. I assume I will get a little more length from blocking it out.
Loving this pattern. It’s perfect for distracted lunch knitting at work (always have someone bug me about something at lunch) and Zombie knitting before bed.
01/22/2012 - 46 grams left of my yarn and my scarf measures about 26 inches unstretched. Still really like working on this and had to force myself to work on my other projects when I had some knitting time this weekend. I am trying to keep this for lunch break knitting as it is a perfect portable project for me, but I enjoy knitting it so I want to keep going.
Am already looking at my stash and wondering what other yarn would be nice in this pattern…. Might make it a break-time staple.
1/31/2012 - 18 grams left on my ball and my scarf is measuring in at 40 inches unstretched. Looks like I will get a little more length out of this than I thought!
02/02/2012 - Finished the stitching last night. Just have to weave in the ends, give it a bath and block it out. Love it!
02/04/2012 - Scarf has been soaked and is now blocking! Woot!
02/05/2012 - Took no time to block. There was some dye release in the soak process but the color remained fairly true to what I saw and fell in love with in the shop. The length I got was pretty amazing. The end product is soft and airy. Very happy with the end results!
02/06/2012 - Grabbed my hubby and did a quick photo shoot modeling how I am wearing this scarf. I like it folded in half with the pattern side out and looped through itself. It fills the neck hole of my jacket nicely and doesn’t add to much more bulk to the rest of me.
After wearing this to work this morning and then while running errends I can say it’s a little scratchy - but it’s also warm and I really liked wearing it. It’s staying out on my coat rack as a “go to” for now.
Also, this is now my lucky scarf as I wore it to the liquor store tonight on the way home from work and they asked for my ID. That hasn’t happened in years, so my Yelcho scarf must have mystical anti-aging properties. WOOT!
