I’m making this as part of a swap for Polyamorwolf on Twitter, and I’m starting it tonight. :)

Wharfedale Woolworks dyed this wool in a custom fashion, and my first instinct was that the colour was too light, but it’s really grown on me and now I love it. :D Here’s the review on my blog.

The yarn is a little bit skinny for the 6.5mm needles required for the pattern, and I’m getting 20st to 4 inches, instead of the required 16 since I went down to 5mm needles to account for that. So I’m going to change the numbers around, I’m sure it’ll be okay. :)

I’ve calculated that for the large adult hat, to get 21 inches required I need to cast on 105 stitches for my gauge.

I made the earflaps with the number of stitches stated in the pattern, and didn’t remember until after that I forgot to increase stitches because of the skinnier wool! But it still looks fine and fits lovely. :)

This is a quick and fun knit, and very satisfying too.
