Notes

A friend of mine created this project to knit some accesories for homeless people.

I wanted to create something very warm, and I improvised this design.

I like snoods and eternty scarf but I when I wear them I very often want to “open” them to get a regular scarf.
And when I have a regular scarf I often wish I had a cowl or a snood.

Just needed some buttons and an heavy bulky yarn to solve this problem :)

So here is a cameleon scarfhood. Something that you can transform anytime and wear different ways

The recipe:

This cameleon is a simple garter stitch scarf with an icord border (For the border it’s simple you slip the three last stitches of each row with yarn in front.
In the beginning of next row you knit normaly the stitches you just slipped)
It’s 60 inches long

At one end of the scarf you make three button holes.
At the other end you sew buttons on each side (recto-verso).

If you want more possibilities you can add a buttonholes when your cameleon is about 50 inches long. (and add buttons wherever you want).
