testing this wonderfull pattern: Selkie
Very good and simple pattern.
Very warm and cosy piece of knit, so pleasant to wear.

Some tips and notes about this test knit:

About the cowl: I’ve made three buttonholes instead of two.

About the body: If like me you are tall, you’ll need to knit more repeats and also need more yarn than what is indicated in the pattern.
I used 7,5 skeins of malabrigo chunky.

The last row (i-cord bind off) requires more yarn than a regular row (so be sure to have enough yarn left ;))

For the sleeves: I didn’t know if I wanted sleeves or not. So I figured out a solution that could offer me the two options.

Few row before ending, on right side I made a button hole at the first and last marker this way:
Knit to marker, slide marker, yarn over, knit 1, M1L

On the next wrong side row, I knitted together the yarn over and the stitch just before.

That way, the button hole is in the middle of the raglan, quite invisible when you don’t use it.

You only have to sew buttons inside the poncho. Now you can create sleeves whenever you want.

About the fit: Fit is perfect and totally adjustable to your shape and size. It’s also very flattering (don’t trust the pictures on which you can see me wearing it, I’m very pregnant that’s why I look a little bit “fat”)
