This is a progressive gradient (new dying technique to me) that results in a gradient repeated 3 times across the braid. I separated the braid so that I had 3 lengths of the gradient repeat, then split each of these down the middle so I now had 6 repeats of the gradient. Spun in a true 3-ply, lining up the colors to result in 2 half-skeins keeping the gradient true. Plan: to knit socks. Or gloves. If I decide after spinning I want something bigger in the gradient, I’ll alternate skeins to keep the gradient true in the project.
I treadle like the wind.
