11/26/12 - Yay for heel being done!
8/18 - THE FOLLOWING YEAR. I have decided that after a year of not opening the bag, I probably won’t finish this pattern, and I really want this yarn to be socks. So today I life-lined the toe so as not to loose all my work and am going to rip back the, like, 10 rows I have completed on the pattern and am going to pick a new one. Cleopatra Stockings, you just weren’t meant to be.
Since I won’t be able to find this later (it is only a matter of time), I am noting here that I am keeping this project in the Japanese Kitty bag. You remember, the bag I got in Japan when we were having lunch in the restaurant with the “windmill” in the middle with the guys from the herbal medicines place.
7/3 The toe construction to this sock has been putting me off. I think I am going to use my Knitmore Girls permission slip and do a Judy’s magic cast on and toe increases similar to those in KMCAS and inc until I have however many I need. Why? Cause Knitters can do that!
1/30/11 Casting on this sock to try to get my sock mojo back. Judy’s Magic Caston 22 stitches, increased to 29x2=58 total around the sock (inc every other row until had 42 sts, then every 3rd row until 58. Two at a time, of course. After toe increase, will have to shuffle stitches around so there are more on the instep, as seen in pattern on p8, last sentence on para 1. So excited to be starting this. I loved the Miss Babs I made the Brandywine out of, and finally getting around to starting these. I don’t know why tonight of all nights I decided to start them, as I had had a bit of alcohol and usually that isn’t a good idea, but I think my knitting math was in tact. And I remembered to untwist the stitches after the magic caston. Go me.
2/4 Ok, those toes took way longer than expected. Now to forge on with the foot! Yay!
2/10 Finally got around to starting on that pesky foot. 5 rows in. Not a fan of my YO’s being involved in a cable. Not at all. Hoping I get used to it. The start was kinda shaky; I am pretty certain I did something wrong on row 3. Or didn’t YO on row 2? But, I just made myself a stitch on each foot and was back off to the races. I don’t think a screw-up that’s going to be in my shoe will be noticed. And I can promise you I didn’t notice!
