So what I did here was judy’s magic cast-on a total of 24 stitches per toe magic loop style, then worked 2 rounds straight, then increased on each end, then knit straight, repeat those two rows until putting the toe on my foot covered my toe cleavage. I then knit 4, bound off to last 4, knit 4, knit the bottom of the toe. I shifted those 4 stitches to the back needle and worked flat until the sockies were the length of my foot. (I am going to either kitchner or 3-needle bind-off when I get to the end. Not sure which yet. Then I’ll crochet around to give it a nice edge.. either crab stitch or slip stitch)

For the first sockie: I ended up picking up and knitting 1 stitch every other row along the outside of the foot (40 on each side) and 2 of 3 stitches along the top of the foot (17 stitches), then knitting k1p1 for 5 rounds, then bound off with jenny’s surprisingly stretchy. It looks great in the shoe, fits in my shoes great, but the heel is wonky (all square) and wants to come off my foot when the shoe comes off.

For the second sockie - I decreased 4 stitches at the back of the heel on the first k1p1 pass in an attempt to pull it in a little at the heel there to hold it on a little better… jury says, still slides right off, but only some of the time! It’s better!

They stay put in the shoe, tho, and isn’t that really what matters? I think I made them a little too long (like maybe only 4-6 rows).

So, next time? A little shorter, and maybe a little longer toe. Even tho these ended up the perfect length there - you just see only 1 or 2 rows poking out of the shoe!
