Notes

11/11: Had Marc try it on after the second repeat and it is a bit too snug. Adding 2” of seed stitch to the sides to loosen it up a bit. I think it will be looser from the blocking as well…..but it would fit me nice.

10/26/11: We are half way through the first pattern repeat. Had to frog 2x due to math errors. I learn as I go…..

12/21:
All swatches are done and measured. I will have to make adjustments. As Marc would have liked it, with all patterns included, the last one would have ended up under his armpit. Much too wide. I think I will have to leave one of the patterns out. Probably the swirly “S” shaped one AKA Chart D.

Inspired by Alice Starmore’s Aran Knitting. My husband saw the picture of “garment 4” in the history section. My mission since I have agreed to accept it is to mimic this pattern to the best of my ability. Challenging for sure.

Using the design process from the book Aran Sweater Design by Janet Szabo and Shirley Paden’s Design Workshop. I am finding them invaluable resources.
