It is a square shawl! Not a triangle (it is only shown as a triangle in the book). This is why it is knit it in the round, not in rows. It took me six times of ripping this sucker out to figure out exactly WHY it was knit in the round.

Ok, I’m finished.

I used a size larger needle than what the pattern called for, and the finished shawl post-blocking is 42 inches across. I used a stretchy bind off, so I probably could block this shawl more aggressively, but I don’t have the means to do that. To block the first time, I laid it out on our living room carpet and pushed it into shape. (and then pushed the cat off it it and re-pushed it back into shape about 5 times)

There is still some yarn leftover, I estimate about 100 yards.

And the yarn softened considerably with eucalan and blocking. It’s quite lovely. I can’t wait to wear it this fall.
