The Nature Dyed Riata Yarn is a 3-plied yarn made up of 48% Fine Wool, 36% Mohair, 16% Silk. I loved working with it and after making both this hat and a Purl Scarf, there is still a decent amount left! The dye does come off just a bit while working with it, but I really love the nature-made color. UPDATE: After doing other projects with these yarns, I think it’s actually the Loft that was shedding Most of the color, not the Raita.

As for the Dragonflies pattern, I really enjoyed it and just love the finished hat. I made a Medium for a bit of a slouchy result (which I wanted). I held the Loft and the Riata together and it knitted up a nice, thick hat with a lovely halo. Love, Love, Love.

I really like the ktbl, p1 pattern so much better than a k1, p1 and plan to use this in place of k1, p1 in other patterns in the future.

I did notice a couple of spots where something seems to be a bit off in the pattern, where the YOs don’t twist in quite the same way as the rest of them do. I frogged and reknit the same spot several times, but always ended up with the same result unless I changed the specific stitch by hand, but I couldn’t figure out what exactly is different in the stitch pattern. It was always the second-level YO of the first wing, just after moving the stitch marker and also a bit higher up in the same spot. I’d be interested to know what exactly was wrong. My LYS couldn’t figure it out either. That said, you can’t see the inconsistency unless you really look for it and it doesn’t change the overall look of the hat. My LOVE for it stands.
