To accomodate the heavier yarn, dropped needle size to 3.25mm. This gave me a slightly bigger gauge than called for (5st/in), so knitting according to size 12 months instructions to (hopefully) result in a 2/3.
2012.7.27 - Cast on and begun during tonight’s opening ceremonies! Let the Games begin!!!
2012.08.01 - Almost done with bodice. Haven’t had as much time this week as DH is traveling and littles have gone to bed late, but hopefully lots of time this weekend.
2012.08.08 - Almost done! All that’s left is to weave in the ends and block. Knit final rows tonight while watching the women’s Beach Volleyball finale (Congrats Misty and Kerri!!!)
Only needed enough of second skein of MC to do 1/2 a row and bind off.
Knit one extra row before increase row which made them much less visible. Will stick with this for any future Milos, I think.
2012.08.14: So I finished this so, so long before closing ceremonies, but I didn’t see the instructions on the Google Form until after the closing ceremonies and Finish Lines were locked down (I read all the instructions in the beginning; they weren’t there and our team captain said all we had to do was tag correctly!). Hopefully no one minds that I grabbed my medal. Sad not to be included in the Podium listing. Weird set up, having to constantly check back…they need an email notification system next time for when new info is added.
….Wait. May have made it in…we’ll see…
2012.08.15: Not sure what’s going on. Was finally able to post in the Finish Line yesterday and submitted the form. Today, my post seems to have disappeared and I wasn’t included in the PODIUM listings. I submitted everything at the same time as the baby hat I also made for the games and got to the Podium for that one, so not sure what happened. Haven’t received an email that this was disqualified for some odd reason so…for now, keeping the medal.
