I felt in need of a simple, painless, go-to project.

Simultaneously, I’ve been wondering what I could make with this single skein of yarn (an impulse, coupon-driven purchase). The colors appeal to me, but I’m a little picky about projects for variegated yarn… Enter the linen stitch!

I loved knitting this pattern in bulky yarn, so I’m curious to see how it goes with something lighter weight.

Cast on 157, long-tail.

Kept going until I needed a break from it. Set it aside for weeks/a month. Picked it back up and kept going until I was tired of it again. It’s plenty long enough. Probably will end up needing to be folded over at the top or bottom, even.

I like the look of linen stitch in this lighter-weight yarn (DK weight), but though it’s a simple stitch, it takes a while to build the fabric. It would be really pretty in an even more colorful variegated yarn, I think.
