Notes

I’m planning to do some major novelty yarn stash-busting in this afghan. I think I’ll pair the novelty yarn with black worsted weight acrylic throughout.

I decided to work it width-wise instead of length-wise. I started with foundation double crochet, because I loathe crocheting into a long chain.

This pattern is ideal for using up fuzzy novelty yarns, imho, because instead of crocheting into the tops of all those stitches, you’re mostly crocheting into the spaces between them-- much easier.

I realized that I was dreading the day that I’d have to work on this blanket and resenting the fact that it was still “hibernating” in the closet. I had zero interest in ever picking it up again. SO. The bit that’s done will be a very skinny dog blankie. Most of the leftover novelty yarn will be donated to charity-- and I will never have to think about this project again. Whew!
