Notes

My first pullover sweater.

2/28/2014 - I have slowed down on the knitting front, but this sweater seems to knit up quick since when I am able to pick it back up I get pretty far. I have finished the body and will be working on sleeves this weekend. So far the instructions have been clear and I have not had any challenges. I noticed in the forums some people have made various adjustments. I have not found a need to make any just yet personally. It seems to fit very well in the waste and back. I love this yarn!

4/11/2014 - Have not had much time for knitting, but was able to pick this back up and made some good progress. Finished sleeves and attached. Attaching the sleeves is not hard at all, it’s just a matter of wrapping your brain around what the pattern is asking you to do. The Owls forum helped a lot and I finally just told my brain to shutup and I started to knit the way I understood it, even though it did not make sense at the time and it worked!

5/1/2014 - I know, I know this sweater “seems” to be taking forever but it really is not if you add up all the time. I believe this is a two week sweater if I picked it up ever ynight for a couple hours and spent a few hours on weekends but life is busy. I am just about done. All knitting is done and now I’m staring at it trying to figure out how to sew up the armpits. I did graft the stitches as indicated in the pattern but I have big holes on each side of the graft still. I tried to seam those but I don’t like the bulk. I am going to try again when my mind is fresh.

5/28/2014 This has been done since the beginning of May, I just got around to taking pics. I got around the holes by grafting them and taking care not to cause any bunching. This sweater fits me nearly perfect. The sleeves could be a tad longer but it’s not an odd length. I do plan to sew a couple of buttons for eyes on one owl when I find the right buttons.

Overall I really enjoyed this sweater. The pattern was easy to follow and the support in the Owls forum is great. I am also very pleased with the yarn its not itchy at all.
