Started with Row 39 by casting on 176 and knitting a few rows before diving into the pattern.

First picture is from 06/19/15.

On 08/20/15, ran out of written pattern and decided to repeat to increase the length.

Next two pictures are from 09/01/15.
Also gah there are so many stitches on my needles!

Ooof, just had to rip five rows (each with 600-700 stitches in it!) out. I somehow made a mistake at the beginning of one of those rows, and try as I might, I couldn’t figure out how to fix it without ripping it back.
This is a bummer, obviously, but now that it’s done I feel positive about moving forward and not having to worry about if I properly fixed that mistake.
Also, I got to see how it looks as a skirt without the stiff knitting cables in it, and it’s pretty cute. I added pictures (excuse the pajama shorts!).

This is a very slow going project. Oof.

I have finally begun binding off! I’m a little nervous about the bind off method - I’m kind of making it up. Knit 8x into the same stitch, bind off 3, repeat. It creates a loopy, not quite picot edge. Hopefully it won’t curl too much.

!!!! It’s done! Or at least, the knitting part is. !!!!!!

02-28-2016

I’ve added more pictures!

Also, I should mention: I repeated the pattern twice, as noted above. Once I finished the second repeat, I knit a round, did a round of YO K2TOG, knit a round, did a round of (K2TOG)x2 YOx2, knit two rounds, then did the bind off.

It still needs an underskirt and a drawstring or elastic. The current pictures are with a random belt and shorts underneath.

But it’s pretty cool. :)

Oof, it apparently took me two months to get the underskirt made (including getting fabric and getting myself to the craft centre to work on it and such), but. BUT. I made it, and I just attached the knitting to it!!!! It’s completely done! Wow. This has been such a long term project.
Pictures tomorrow, I think. :D

Pictures are up and I’ve shared them around on the internet. I can’t believe it’s completely done! It’s so exciting.
