Notes

Finished: I’m really pleased with it even though there are a couple minor mistakes. My first ever shawl/shawlette (and I’ve taught myself to knit less than a year ago.)

Pattern:
Super simple start on this one. made one modification: I am dropping the first knit stitch purl wise to create a nice neat edge.
I also was running into misaligned eyelets with that pair of eyelets running down the spine so as soon as I was ready to do the F&F section, I ‘dropped’ the eyelet section and made it another F&F section so it ran all the way across, except of course for the ends/points.

General:
This is knitting along so nicely. First time doing feather and fan and it’s easy and quick to do.
A bit small -- more of a shawlette but I still like it.

Yarn:
I ordered this online from Yarn Ingulgences. Highly recommend them, especially if you live in Canada. Shipping is fast and very reasonable (or free if you order $100). This particular yarn has much more green tones than the blue and I thought it was more blue when I ordered it. That’s okay though. Produces a very nice fabric and will definitely order this again (different colour).
I used the entire skein plus needed to get a ‘contrasting’ yarn to finish the last F&F -- so I think I’ll pick up and knit a border so it looks like the different yarn was intentional.

Bind off:
Bind off: K2tog tbl, slip stitch from right to left needle then repeat. Nice and stretchy but not floppy.

Future
If I do another, I will go with the same mods plus one more: I think this would benefit by having an I-cord edge at the top so I’d add that right from the beginning.
I would likely also do this in stockinette (but depending upon yarn) … if it was another yarn with varied colours, for sure I’d do stockinette; if it was a solid colour or minimal colour variation then I’d likely go again with garter.
