Finished. Sewing the seams took ages, but they look good. I changed the neck and did 2x2 ribbing instead of the garter, which looks okay, but maybe isn’t the best. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the sweater.

Finished switching, and ready to start knitting. The Cascade, of course, is only a worsted weight, so my gauge is off. In stockinette, I’m getting 17.5 stitches / 4”, and 24 rows / 4”.

So I’m going to knit the third child size (33), and I think it’ll end up being the 2nd size. I think it will be longer, based on my row gauge - but from what I’ve read on the afghans for Afghans website, I think that will be okay.

Used a tubular cast on; something new, that seems to have worked very nicely! (Cast On, Bind Off, p 76)
