July 20 - two hats finished and photographed. The smaller (72 stitches; 74 yards) is about 7” (unstretched); the larger (76 stitches; 81 yards) is about 8” (unstretched). Both fit easily on a 12” softball (pictured).

I have enough yarn left to make a third hat, but will set it aside for now, and send these two off.

July 10 - finished one hat (picture coming soon). Unstretched, it is 3.25” across; stretched, it fits snugly on a 12” softball. It’s soaking now, and may stretch a bit more.

I cast on 72 stitches for this first hat; maybe I’ll go up to 80 for the next, just to make it a tad larger.

July 3 - started a hat during a work meeting today, casting on for the smallest size. I love this yarn, and knitting with it is a joy, so I won’t feel too bad ripping it out and starting over. This smallest size is too small. Recent a4A blog posts suggest that 13” - 16” is the target size, and that the large size for this pattern will work best. So… frogging!
