Notes

12/19/10: I wore these socks for the first time last week and they are perfect! They didn’t fall down or slide around and they felt fantastic. I do wish the cuffs were a tad longer, though.

4/3/10: Socks are done! Woo hoo!!

I didn’t divided the yarn balls evenly at the very start so I had to steal from ball #2 to finish sock #1. If I had been more careful in dividing the yarn I could have made the socks a bit taller. Lesson learned.

Details:

  • CO 6
  • Inc to 56
  • Ended foot at end of dark purple stripe. ~7”
  • 2” heel flap
  • Continued flap pattern beyond end of decreases
  • 4.25” leg before ribbing
  • 1.5” 2x2 ribbing
  • Sewn bind off
  • 10g yarn leftover

I should have started the ribbing earlier. Another lesson learned.

I really enjoyed working with this yarn. The skein had no knots and the vibrant colors penetrated the entire skein.

The sport weight yarn seemed to fly off the needles.

I love this yarn.

3/28/10: Both heels are turned and one gusset is decreased.

3/21/10: I knit both heel flaps tonight (2” long).

3/20/10: I finished the second foot tonight. I’m not sure how I did it, but the stripes on the two socks match perfectly. I was just hoping to get them close.

3/17/10: I finished the first foot already! I stopped knitting at the end of a dark purple stripe. The foot is 7” long.

3/15/10: I cast on 6 and increased the second sock to 56 sts. The sport-weight yarn is knitting up quickly!

3/14/10: I divided the yarn into two 2oz. balls.

I’m going up to a 2.75mm needle for these. I usually use 2.25mm, but this is a sport-weight yarn, so I should be okay going up the 0.5mm.

I started one sock tonight. I cast on 6 and increased to 56.
