Notes

I’m not strictly following any pattern on this - there were several I looked at and I couldn’t decide so I just started knitting the yarn to see how it would look and kept knitting.

I cast on 110 stitches on 8mm needles and used stockinette stitch but with 2 knit stitches at the start and end of each purl row. I started a 4th skein but kept checking the length and decided to stop when I achieved the look I wanted.

I have large wooden buttons that I’d planned to sew on this but I actually like the texture of the “wrong” side and the flexibility of using a shawl pin so am hesitant to commit to using it only one way and sewed up the single button hole I had originally made.

I wanted to see the texture in the rolled edges on the top and bottom and I think it works well and is surprisingly effective for what is the most very simple of shawls.
