Notes

This is a lovely pattern that knits up incredibly quickly! I couldn’t believe it…I know that sportweight is only a step up from fingering weight, but these socks knitted up almost as quickly as worsted weight ones.

When I was halfway through with the first sock, I realized that it was going to be a little too tight. Not uncomfortably tight, but the stitches were stretched more than I wanted them to be. I know that I have wide, chubby feet, but this is the first time I’ve actually had to alter a sock pattern because of it. :)

Anyway, I cast on 6 extra stitches (for a total of 54). I finished that first sock knowing that I’d have to frog it because I wanted to make sure I’d have enough extra yarn to add more stitches. I’ve never done that before, so I didn’t do the best job of adjusting that new stitch count around the heel and all, which means that my heel ended up not exactly the right spot. The socks fit fine, though!

This was my first time using Quince and Co. yarn, and this stuff is amazing. So springy and soft and lovely. I didn’t soak the yarn from the first sock after I frogged it, and it knitted up just as beautifully as the unused yarn.

Pair #3 of 6 for myself in 2015.
