Notes

Finished! I hope I’ll be able to wear these socks during the summer. I knitted for about 1” (10 rows) before starting the heel. Inspired by the Rose City Rollers pattern, I did the rolled cuff, though now I’m sort of wishing I’d done an inch of ribbing instead. These socks feel slightly big, almost like they’re going to feel like they’re slipping around. I’m not sure if they are slightly big (I’ve never used this yarn before and maybe my gauge is different from the Stroll yarn) or if it’s just because they’re no longer cuff to hold them up. But I think they’ll be fine!

I love this yarn, though. Hawthorne isn’t quite as soft as Stroll, but it feels more durable (and my Stroll socks hold up wonderfully). I like a high twist in sock yarn, and I’m really pleased with how the colors knitted up. (I’m usually disappointed with Stroll handpainted colors.)
