This is a crocheted version of the Weighted Companion Cube from the video game Portal. If you don’t know the game, here is an adequate representation ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAnfG3KfPB0 ).

I sewed and stuffed a 16” cube shaped pillow, then in assembly line fashion, crocheted all of the panels, corners and hearts, then joined them all together into a cover with a zipper that can be somewhat easily removed for washing.

I documented the process of my companion cube’s creation in the photos seen here. I even have the alternate version of the heart in a circle that I crocheted in rounds (which I didn’t like at all).

Ingredients (all done in sc):
1. 24 gray 8” x 8” panels
2. 24 light gray 5” x 5” triangular corner pieces
3. 24 light gray 5” x 1” rectangles for corners
4. 32 small light gray 1” triangles for corners
5. 48 small light gray 2” x 1” rectangles for corners
6. 24 medium light gray 4” x 1” rectangles for corners
7. 6 pink hearts
8. 6 light gray hexagons
9. 24 light gray 3” x 2” edge pieces
10. 2 long pink strips

There is no way I will ever make another one of these. I may make a smaller one though.
