-Removed the corset features from the design and am knitting just a simple lace-up bodice, with a smocked girdle below the bust
-Started 2 weeks ago.
-Finished front and 75% of back.

LOVE… this yarn. What would we do without knitpicks.

This colour is difficult to photograph. As a result I searched many projects before I bought it. I was hoping for more of a violet-blue than a royal-blue and violet it is.

I got roughly 21 sts/4” on 3.75mm needles.

The fit came out the way I was planning, particularly the back neck. The only change I would make is at the front: I would work a few short rows near the full bust line, so that we have the equivalent of horizontal darts, to pull down the front neck slightly. This would keep the bust area from flaring outwards, and the centre-front neck from flaring outwards as well.

I will buy this yarn again and again. The linen makes it very durable and absorbs the dye so well. The photos are taken after have machine washed and machine dried the sweater twice. You can barely tell it’s worn. I wear it on very hot days and it breathes very well.

I tried something new… I lined all the plackets and raw edges with bias tape cut from a complementing fabric, and machine sewed it on. Stay tuned for the pattern to see the details:)
