Bah, can’t change the heel flap size for my large instep without re-working the pattern, and of course I don’t realize that until I’m up to the heel. I went for the heel flap anyway, hoping against hope that it would work, but it didn’t. A-frogging I shall go!

Starting Foot Chart at 3 1/8”, working one row as set after foot chart and continuing to increase for gussets every other row through setup row and 1 repeat of Leg Chart. Work Row 1 of leg, setting up for heel by working all but 33 sts of Leg Chart onto N2 (or in my case, N3 and N4), then working heel turn as set and heel flap over all but center 32 leg sts (48 rows).

Worked two repeats of Leg Chart in the Leg, 3 repeats total.

Worked 6 rows of ribbing for 1/2” rather than 1” cuff for my shorter socks.

Additional mods:

Toe Chart - I made purls instead of knits for M1 and did right and left leaning gusset increases.
Leg Chart - I changed the SK2P that mirrors the K3tog to actually mirror the K3tog with a SSSK.
Heel Turn - For the W&T, I slipped the K sts knitwise and the P sts purlwise so they were lined up for easily working with the wraps.
Heel Flap - I used SSK to join on the RS and P2tog on the WS to make it look more like a top-down heel flap.
Leg - picked one up on either side of the heel flap and worked it together with the heel flap on the first leg round to get rid of holes.
Ribbing - In order for K2, P2 ribbing to work, K2tog in the chart area for 32 sts on N1.

Decided to go with a 6st cabled I-cord edge rather than ribbing, so added one stitch to give me 66 sts, used the larger needle, and cabled every 6th row of the applied I-cord.

Scratch that, I-cord won’t work because my instep is just too high, even with a US4/3.5mm, though it does look cute. Will have to do ribbing.
