I think these will work as oven mitts! Make the thumbs wider and use black.

Use some leftover wool and needlefelt a design on?

Attempt #1: Susan Bates DPNs are gold for both US10 and US8, so now I’m starting over.

For thumb, to make oven mitts rather than mittens, K2, work 20 on waste yarn, continue as written.

Wound up with 44 sts for thumb, work 19 rows then do decreases as for hand to keep height reasonable.

Finishing both thumb and finger sections, skip the final knit row and Kitchener instead.
