A potholder to practice the pattern. Starting with the pattern found here, but I’m not all that great with crocheting yet and most people didn’t explicitly write what they did for their modifications. So, here’s mine for anyone who needs more information like I do!
MC Magic Ring, ch3 and 10 dc in ring (11 sts)
Ch3, 1 dc in same st, 2dc in each st around (22 sts)
Ch3, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next st, 2dc in next 10 sts, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next 9 sts (42 sts)
Ch4, dc in same st, skip 2 dc, dc, ch1, dc in same st around (14 ch spaces (sp))
sl st in space, ch3, dc, ch1, 2 dc in ch space, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc in each ch sp around
sl st in dc and ch space, ch3, dc, ch1, 2 dc in ch space, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc in each ch sp around
sl st in dc and ch space, ch3, 2 dc, ch1, 3 dc in ch space, 3 dc, ch, 3 dc in each ch sp around
sl st in dc and ch space, ch3, 2 dc, ch1, 3 dc in ch space, 3 dc, ch, 3 dc in each ch sp around
sl st in 2 dc and ch space, ch3, 7 dc in ch sp, 8 dc in each ch sp around
make back using CC by following rows 1 - 9 again
CC sc through both sides in 8 dc on each “petal”, {sc1 around sts between petals, ch1} down to row 3 and back up, on last “petal”, sl st around the top of row 3, go back up, ch10 for loop, finish off.
