Slipped first stitch on every row of heel flap to make picking up gussets easier.
Did not do the heel flap as instructed, thought it’d turn out oddly as written, so I did sl1, K12, ssk, k1, sl1, p3, p2tog, p1, cont. until all sts worked, do that final k2tog, k, ssk row, continue as written.

According to my research, Altheda was certainly wearing socks like these on the journey up the steep slope, or she never would have been able to cheer her fellow adventurers on! They would have kept her feet comfortable and blister-free as she trudged, making this a historically accurate pair of socks.
