Notes

Got a version of this pattern from Doilyhead. Instructions are translated to English and modifications made to the pattern to simplify things. Still -- a dozen charts. This is going to take a while…

Switched to a new hard core ball (large) of Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread using a Rusiian join on round 215

March 4, 2019

The Doilyhead instructions say to go through round 405 and then just bind off. But I wanted to use crochet chained loops to bind off the edge. I tried doing it after round 405 but though the yarnovers looked inconsistent, having just one thread instead of the two twisted thread that is created by knitting into a yarnover. So I added a round 406 of just knitting all the way around. I think the binding off with the crochet chains looks better this way.

I grouped the gathering of the end stitches for the crochet chains in either groups of 3 for the most part, either three knit stitches together or a YO, K, YO grouping. Also, within each 28-stitch section, there are two 5-stitch groupings.
