Update April 2014 This sweater is growing on me; I mean literally growing on me. It looked like a good size after I finished it, but more I wear it, it seems to be getting bigger which is a shame since I really like this sweater. Not sure what to do. I may just leave it like that as a big over sized sweater…
October 2015 I re-knitted the neckband on US#6 and US#5 , then bound off with the tubular bind-off. having a tighter neckline helps the overall fit of the sweater (yeah!)

Note about the color: The color is much prettier in real life; I may have to try and take some more pictures outside in daylight when it is warmer.

1.30. Finished and I love it. It is a nice fit; loose without being to big.

1.24. Both sleeves are finished. Next is the neckline and then I will decide on finishing the body :) :)
I did have to do some adjustments on the decreases because my rows are not to gauge. I am using the US 7 for the ribbing.

1.19. I am leaving the body unfinished on a cable and will finish one of the sleeves first. This will help me calculate if I have enough yarn to knit the body and sleeves in the length I want. One idea is to knit all the ribbed edges, i.e. the cuffs, ribbed hem and neck in a grey yarn. Other than fretting over whether or not I have enough yarn I am very pleased; so far so good :)

The yarn was in the clearance bin at The knitting Garage and with a little encouragement from my co-worker it came home with me. Of course it had to wait till after the holidays to be knitted up and I had to find the perfect pattern. I was looking for a raglan style sweater because with the finite amount of yarn I could always change the length of the body and/or arms.

When I came across “Beeline” by Heidi Kirmaier and read the overall satisfaction of knitters who used this pattern, I was hooked.

It has enough interest so the knitting is not boring (even in the body part) and at the same time it is not too difficult; a nice quick knit ( On day five of evening knitting I just have two more repeats in the body and then the ribbing to do and then the sleeves. I am hoping to be done by the end of the month.

I did have a little bit of a hard time deciding on the size to knit, but Jennifer helped me since she did use the same yarn for her beeline.

I achieved a gauge of 19.5 sts and 26 rows/ 4 “ when knitting flat on US 8’s and when knitting in the round on US 9’s. I am a very tight knitter, but like the drape achieved with the looser knitting.
