This is the kit I bought when I was on Block Island: Block Island Gansey Hat1.
Working from the chart feels like painting by numbers. The pattern is easily remembered after just a few rounds.
I like how the pattern is incorporated as much as possible during the decrease rows up to the crown.
I am happy to say that there was plenty of yarn with some left over. I had been worried when I read grasdorf’s pattern notes: grasdorf’s hat
A lovely pattern and quick knit. Definitely the best souvenir I could bring back from Block Island. I am thinking to knit up a few more of these as gifts :)
