The 4 row lace edge/ bind off is tedious (even in the small size it is done a total of 60 times!) and it took me about one week, but it is well worth the effort. What a beautiful design and stunning end product. As I was working on this we had several customers buy the pattern and yarn :)

After finishing the first lace pattern repeat I can see how pretty this pattern really is. The different sections seem to almost fold into each other giving the piece an overall origami effect. The yarn is perfect for this delicate pattern.

This is a pattern you have to concentrate on while knitting and I must admit that when my mind tried to wander I thought it to be a bit cumbersome, but the result is well worth the effort.

I knitted two swatches. The first one with a single strand of yarn and the second one with two strands held together. The second one gives me the correct gauge and on closer inspection of both the pattern and yarn label I see why:
The pattern calls for a cashmere/ silk blend yarn with approximately 400 yards to 100 grams . This yarn has the right fiber content, but runs 400 yards to 55 grams. By doubling the yarn I get the correct gauge and since I will only need 150 yards I have plenty. One skein would even be enough for the larger size (200 yards).
