I am intrigued by this pattern and using some remnants for my first try.
Doing this as a quick in-between project for short term investment with quick result . Will put it aside with other similar small items for gifts.
After the first 15 rows it got easier as I understood the pattern better.

After the diamonds were done on the 28 row repeats, I worked row 1 and 2 before finishing with the garter border.

Also ( as someone else had pointed out), substituted C for A ( not B) in the second repeat and back to A in the third.

Love the texture; it has a woven feel and look.
Too pretty to use as a dishcloth; would make a nice book cover or coasters….or even a bathmat or couch cushion cover.
