Notes

I like the drape of the “Easy Folded Poncho” we have at The Knitting Garage as a store sample. It inspired me to knit one up in the Cascade Eco Alpaca.
What I don’t like is the rolled stockinette stitch edge and the length. When I looked through some other patterns I was very much taken by the lace edge in the “Lincoln Park Poncho” and decided to combine these two patterns into one.
3.31.: Provisional cast-on of 112 stitches on US# 6 needle. I will be taking this project with me when I am visiting family over Easter and since I only need to do stockinette stitch for the most part, I feel that this is the perfect project to be working on while sitting and chatting and drinking tea :)
4.6.-4.19. I finished the stockinette stitch section. 56 inches total while in England.
4.21.-4.25. Undid the provisional cast-on and joined the cast-on edge with the working row to knit the lace section. I made two changes: I crocheted around the edge after finishing the lace to eliminate rolling somewhat and I made the neck opening 11.5 inches (23 inches around ) instead of 15 inches.
Used the bigger needle for cast off row only.
The last picture shows how much (or rather how little) yarn I had left when I was all done.
