After knitting my “ Hitafude” last summer, i felt inspired to knit up a couple of more vests. The Weekend Wrap by Julie Weisenberger inspired me, but I didn’t like the big armholes, so I am using this pattern by Lana Grossa, but with a few changes.
First off I didn’t like the look on #17 needles, so I am using #15’s, then I am also making it longer to cover my bum. I cast on 72 instead of 62 stitches.
I also added some stripes in contrasting color and added short rows in the back for even more swing.
I am EXTREMELY pleased how this came out!!!!

Instructions for the short rows: I used the twin stitch method by the sox therapist from her pattern Fish Lips Heel for the short rows. You could also use W&T or any other short row method.
When I got to half of the back I joined color A for the next (WS) row.

P24,TSP, turn (purl the twin stitch you come across as one in this and the following rows)

P32, TSP, turn
k to end
P40, TSP, turn
k to end
P48, TSP,turn
knit to end
P40, TSP, turn
knit to end
P32, TSP, turn
knit to end
P24, TSP, turn
knit to end
P16, TSP, turn
At this point I went back to color B and knitted the whole row picking up the twin stitches as I came across them. You would have a smoother edge if you did this row still in color A (your choice)
