Notes

Beautiful yarn.
In the written instructions it should read for row #6: BO 3sts, k4 (5 sts incl. the last BO stitch). The designer does explain this in her pattern notes, but if you are like me you skip right through them , eager to start the project.

9.10. I am close to finishing section B and on the third ball ( just three more repeats of section B). This is slow going because I am working at the shop while I knit this and often have to put it down in the middle of a repeat and row. I caught a couple of mistakes and had to tink back. flushed…But I am glad the end of section B is in sight… I think section C will be easier to work on while multi-tasking.

9.27. I just knitted the last cable ( total number of cables: 260!!!). Now I am about ready to start section C (may I add that I work only two days a week).

10.2. Oh no!! I was looking forward to start with section C today, when I realized that I have to knit one more repeat of section B (18 more rows; three of those with cables…MORE cables!!). To be honest I don’t really mind, it’s just that I was hoping to finish before the Sheep and Wool Festival.

10.11. Finished yesterday and taken off the blocking mats today. Unfortunately we did not have the blocking wires at the shop and I had to use pins instead (that, too, didn’t help with bringing out the lace better). If I made this again I would use a larger needle. There was plenty of yarn left (see last picture). I even started on the final ball of yarn before finishing the second to last, just to have all the colors represented. It would look more like the picture, more drapy and lacy… Phdaisy1 even used a US# 8!!!

I do LOVE the final section C lace bind off and want to keep it in mind for future projects; even for a top-down tunic or sweater :) it definitely adds a whimsical note.

I would knit it again :)
