2.27.: Finished and blocking. I am extremely pleased with the fit of the sweater. It came out just the way I wanted it; fitted but not tight. Can’t wait for it to dry so I can wear it and post more pictures.

2.24-2.26. Finished the owls and yoke. Bound off using YO stretchy bind off. I am admiring the owls a lot; amazing how a few cables and purl stitches can create the image of an owl.

2.20.-2.23. Finished both sleeves.

2.20. : This was hibernating for about a week while I worked more days at my LYS. Today I started, frogged and re-started the first sleeve. I didn’t like that all the increases were made at the underarm every other row. Instead I spaced them more (every 7th row) for a more tapered look. I am hoping to be wearing this soon while it is still cold out.

2.13.: Much happier with the second attempt I unraveled the first.

2.9.: I re-started the body with less negative ease (see also my notes on my blog).

2.6.: Six inches into it I started reading other ravellers’ project notes and notice that most have made changes to the pattern; now I am a bit worried as to how much I should change the pattern to suit me…best to try it on after a few more rounds.

2.5.: Started on a snowy winter day (during winter storm Nika)
I decided on this pattern in size #3, but made a couple of changes:

  • I knitted an extra inch before doing the waist decreases and

  • I only did a total of 3 decreases getting down to a stitch count of 96 rather than 92 for a less dramatic shaping.

This is how it all started: Working at my LYS I often petted this yarn and thought “wouldn’t it be nice to have a garment made of this yarn; I could just sink into this soft yummy yarn :)”
My son and a friend of mine gave me gift certificates so I could buy enough for a sweater.
