just improvising …how hard can that be?
It wasn’t that hard, but I wish I had taken it more serious to make sure of the gauge. It’s a tad big. What took me so long to finish it were all those dishcloths I made in between.

September 2013 UPDATE: I like the color and yarn and know I would be wearing this top more if I changed the style from a short swing-top to a straight tank-top. I undid the edging at the armholes. Then I cut the yarn two rows above the underarm row. I carefully put the stitches above on my needle and frogged the rest. I wound the unraveled yarn into a skein, let it soak and dry to relax then rewound it into a ball. Then I re-knitted from the top down more narrow than it was and just straight without any shaping. I will be able to make it longer this way. I will finish with the same kind of eyelet edge as before and re-do the edging around the armholes. MUCH BETTER!

k5, p1 ribbing in the round
Armholes: Pick up 88 sts
row 1: knit
row 2: knit
row 3: knit
row 4: k2tog, YO all around
row 5: k2tog, YO all around
row 6: purl 9, p2tog all around
Bind off knitwise
