Notes

Here is a very versatile modular scarf that is easy enough as a beginner project, but if you choose an “interesting” long-run-colored yarn like the uneek it is a project you don’t want to put down, even as an experienced weaver.

For the sample project I simply wove and assembled the hexagons as they came off the skein until the yarn was used up. The skein yielded 49 elongated hexagons.

You can wear the scarf open as a long scarf, wrap it once or twice to a cowl style, or fold it in half and loosely pull the ends through the halfway loop.

If you wish you can modify the length (a half length scarflet looks cute, and you will get two per skein) and/or add a third row to make it wider.

This pattern is also great to use up smaller amounts of yarn, or combine 2 or more colors of your choice.

The schematic shows how to start the assembly. If you follow the layout, you can use the weaving ends to sew the hexagons together with no waste and a guaranteed color match.

Happy weaving!
