2.6.20 ~ Now, there’s mileage! Still wearing the cupcake hat at age 7!

Well, a hat/coat rack will need to do for now as my muse.
This adorable cupcake hat pattern caught my eye as a gift for my granddaughter. Of course, I am very much hoping the hat will be modeled for this site and now it is!

This is a stash buster project, that is stash of remnants: cake is from ‘Summer Snakes’, frosting is from the classic VK houndstooth suit and the cherry on top is knitted from leftovers from the fabulous, geometric Mably dress.

Skills: the stuffed cherry needs some skill in magic loop or double-pointed needles (which is what I used) and the icing dribbling from the frosting is a bit of crochet. The hat is knitted flat, sewn, ribbing is added by picking up stitches, a darning needle gathers the top, which leads to accessorizing to your heart’s content!

I think the gift is adorable. Kudos to the designer!
