replaced buttons with some elongated ones that work a little better with my loosey-goosey buttonholes

6-28-09 - VICTORIOUS :) …. I have won the seaming battle ~ not too shabby for a first attempt and it fits like a dream …. now just have to wait for my photographer to get home from work so I can get a photo of me wearing it ~ learned lots with this sweater and I’m glad I did it!
I used some vegetable ivory buttons from my vintage collection

6-19-09 - sat down with my Vogue knitting book and figured out how to set in a sleeve (4 tries but I think it’s perfect…for a first set in sleeve that is!) and did my first mattress stitch seam up the side ~LOVE that! still need to do the other side but it can wait til tomorrow ~ accomplished much today ;)

4-29-09 - just need to block (how do you block cotton & silk???) and with a little guidance on the seaming it will be done very soon ~ yippee!

4-27-09 - down to just sleeves before seaming it together ~ did one sleeve last night with cable cast on but don’t like that the cast on edge doesn’t have any ‘give’ ~ I think it will feel too binding so I’ll make 2 more using the long tail that I learned in my Basics course which should make it feel much looser once sewn together

4-25-09 - after some helpful hints from Sarah on selvedge edges in armhole shaping section I’m back to work ~ slow going on a couple of rows trying to refigure lace sections where now not equal #’s of increases & decreases but I did ok, just SLOW progress!

4-6-09 - trying to get a photo of how the yarn is knitting up ~ I love it ~ but the color is coming out either too washed out or too purplish ~ I posted the too purplish photo ~ the actual color is somewhere between the wip photo and the photo of my stash yarn….

4-5-09 - cast on tonight for WildFibers Spring KAL ~ unsure of sizing … I’m right between an XS and S and my gauge is right on so I’m starting with an XS and will have to frog and start over if too small ~ I’m so excited about my 50% off clearance yarn (regularly $12.95 each) that I scored at Hilltop East in Bellevue!!
