Notes

favorite. sweater. ever. I could make a closetful of these!
(please excuse the peeling house ~ we’re getting ready to paint our home this year)

hands down the best fitting sweater I’ve ever made ~ fantastic pattern!!! and it helps that I tried it on 2 dozen times while I was making it ~ love top down construction!

pattern notes:

  • on a US9 my gauge is slightly bigger than pattern gauge (I’m at 17st & 24 rows = 4”) - don’t want to go up a needle size since the knitting will be too open so since I’m between sizes for this sweater, I’m going to make a size bigger (36”) rather than a size smaller (32”)
  • for v-neck increases: I used M1L at beginning of row and M1R at end of row since it didn’t specify what kind of increases to use (I chose to have mine lean away from the v-neckline)
  • for body increasing: pattern didn’t specify what M1 increases to use so since the decreases leaned into the stitch markers I made my decreases lean away from the markers (so I M1R before 1st and 3rd markers and M1L after 2nd and 4th markers)
  • for body length: I worked 9 straight rows after 3rd increase row and tried it on (about 13 3/4” from underarm) - too short - did one more increase row and knit 10 more straight rows before binding off (gave me an extra 2” so about 15 3/4” from underarm) - you lose about 3/4” length to the curl at the bind off so I’m right at 15” which is a perfect length for me (I’m long waisted)
  • for sleeves: I wanted them to come almost to my knuckles and be really loose so I could wear my watch and not feel bound up ~ I knit 26 rows, did a decrease row, knit 13 rows, did a decrease row, knit 33 rows, did a decrease row, knit 21 rows and then bound off
