Notes

So happy to finally start on this one with the Eos yarn from The Unique Sheep. Decided to go from light at the neckline to dark at the bottom although it was pretty much a coin toss. I am loving the yarn, its gorgeous. Only have seven rows so far, its a touch complicated after a long hard day at work but I think I’ve got it now.

9/15 - done with the first skein (1 oz, orange-yellow) and started on the next (mostly orange with a bit of yellow and dusky purple). Its almost 16 inches from neckline to tip of triangle and now I’m thinking its going to be huge if I go with my plan to use up every bit of this yarn… But luckily for me I love big shawls.

9/26 - on the last skein and oh my I love this gradient. I am on the last big flower row and then the border and I should have plenty of yarn to finish it. I’m still debating if it needs a row of finishing sc up the side. I also modified the pattern just a tad by adding an extra leaf set about midway down to give it a little more overlap curve. I am loving the way this is turning out. Will have to see how big it blocks out - because its pretty big already.

9/28 - finished with almost none of the last gradient skein left - I was so afraid I wasn’t going to make it that I altered the pattern just a tad, using 2 triples in the last clusters rather than 3 and ditching some of the single crochets on the last row. I probably could have gotten away with keeping all the single crochets but my peace of mind was already strained.

She turned out gorgeous anyway. Will get her on the blocks tomorrow and see how huge she grows. She’s almost 30” now from neckline to the tip of the triangle.

9/29 - up on the blocks and she is huge. 74” side to side and 42” from tip of triangle to neck. I’m going to be completely wrapped in this lovely thing. Modeled photos to come.
