Notes

Always wanted to make this hat, now I have an excuse!

Notes:

I twisted the K stitches on the brim to match the rest of the hat.

Did 1 repeat with US 7 before transitioning to 8.

The LC stitch can be done without taking either stitch off the needle as Barbara G. Walker describes in her first Treasury. For your variation pleasure, here are those stitches:

Right twist: skip the first stitch and knit the second stitch, leaving it on the needle. Knit the skipped stitch and slide them both off the needle.

Left twist: take the right needle behind the left needle, skip 1 stitch and knit the second stitch in the back loop, then knit the skipped stitch in the front loop. Slip both stitches from the needle together.

Twisted left twist (not from BGW, but the one I’m using!): same as left twist, but knit the skipped stitch tbl.

Twisted right twist (not BGW, haven’t tried it, but hey):
same as right twist, but knit the first stitch tbl.
