Going for the adult size here, if it’s not too big with bulky yarn.

Since I have 2 balls of this yarn, I marked the halfway point of the first ball. I’m going to knit to the mid-point of the thumb and I get to that before my halfway knot, then I’ll know I’ll be ok.

OK - got to the thumb and the knot at about the same time. I still need yarn for binding off and seaming. So, I looked at my long-tail cast on, and figured that I had quite a bit of extra there. So, I re-cast on with a shorter long tail, and finished the mitten with a couple yards to spare. That pic is after seaming it up so you can see how much I had left. Now all that’s left is mitten #2.

After David wore these a few times, they stretched really out of shape, especially around the wrists - mostly cause he refuses to tuck them in his coat, so they’re sort of scrunched. I felted them slightly, and he likes them even better now!
