Actually 65/35 Supewash Merino/Silk Pencil Roving. But there wasn’t a listing for that. Lovely lovely stuff! Can’t wait to spin it. Never seen pencil roving in that combo so I couldn’t resist.
Super sweet fiber. Absolutely adored spinning it. Spun easily. And such lovely colors.
Looked very muted when the singles were spun. That was unexpected. But the spots of color really gave such a lovely colorway. Broke up the colors & made such beautiful colors.

Forgot which direction I plied this. Then I got the direction of S & Z twist confused. Plied some. Made a mess of it & finally decided I was plying it in the wrong direction. Tried to untangle it & reply it. Gave up after trying about a yard.
Pulled the existing stuff off the bobbin & started plying in the correct direction. Works much better.
I think I may have underplied the singles. It really doesn’t have a lot of spring to it. Not sure how well it will hold together.
This was the second fiber to go on my new-to-me Ladybug wheel. I was getting used to the wheel & after overspinning the first batch, I think I may have gone the other way.
Mind you, could just be the SW/Silk combo doesn’t have a lot of spring. And I left the bobbins sitting for at least 2, though probably 3 weeks. So that might be part of it too.
Will be interesting to see what happens after I finish plying & give it its bath!
Plied some in the wrong direction. Long story short, it ended up in three skeins.
Large skein-
182 x 70” = 12740” = 353.88 yds
Super short -
2.5 x 72” = 180” = 5 yds
Re-plied -
11 x 74” = 814” = 22.6 yds
Total 381.488 yds
Super soft & yummy. Soaked & thwacked. Super soft and lovely to the touch. Adore this fiber & yarn.
