Notes

4/30/16 I turned the first heel and am working on the foot now. So far, it fits but is very snug in the foot. I like the density of 8 sts/“ so for the next pair, I may add 4 sts or so.

I cast on using Tillybuddy’s very stretchy cast on so that the whole top of the sock would be very stretchy. I have larger than average calves and I want the socks to fit me. I think the transition from the rib to the st st is too abrupt. Next time, I might put a bit of standard single rib between. I would consider doing the whole cuff in the fisherman’s rib expect that a) it takes roughly twice as much yarn and b) it takes well over twice the time.

Cuff: 30 rnds fisherman’s rib, about 48 rnds st st, measures just shy of 6”.
Heel: As written.
Gusset: Picked up one extra st on each side (farthest from the heel), then knitted each together with the outermost st on the top of the foot.
