8/29/16 Blocked and done! This worked up much quicker than I expected. I’m very happy with how it turned out.

I thought long and hard about my yarn choice. I had some reservations about using a single with varying thickness, but I really wanted to use the Silk Garden Lite anyway. I don’t think it would work well with a true thick and thin yarn, but the Noro ended up being fine. I think the high number of twisted stitches in the pattern helped increase the stitch definition. My only regret is that the chevron pattern between the rib and pattern stitch doesn’t show up as cleanly as in some of the other test projects.

I ran into a few knots along the way. I chose to just use the yarn as it came off the skein and not worry about the color sequence being interrupted. As a result, I got long sections of blue and lavender. I actually prefer that to a more predictable stripe. As I was knitting, the colorway conjured up a southwestern sunset palette.
