Test knit for Kristen of Through the Loops.
The textures in this shawl are beautiful. The wrong side of the Lace Stripe section reminds me of a gilded mirror. And the wrong side is just as beautiful as the right. This yarn is so lovely to work with…beautiful color, incredibly soft.
I started this on US 7 but didn’t like how loose it was knowing that it would be even looser after blocking so I went down a needle size.
Pre-blocking: 20” - down center, 38” -tip to tip across shoulders
Post-blocking: 25” x 51”
Gauge: 24.5 sts x 48 rows over 4”
08/02/10 - It’s blocking now and I found 2 dropped sts. I thought this yarn was soft before…it softened up so much more after washing!
Ok - fixed the dropped stitches. Not the best pics but good enough for now. I’ll try and get better pics over the next week or so.
08/01/10 - Done! I love it! It’s so beautiful. The Lace Stripe section was my favorite. I probably would have finished a half day earlier if I didn’t stop to admire the shawl after every row. I can’t wait to see how it turns out after blocking!
07/31/10 - I’m almost done. I’m on the second repeat of the Lace Stripe chart.
07/30/10 - I’ve got 1 more repeat of the Lattice section left. This has been the hardest part…only because I’m a tight knitter and it was hard getting the needle in for those k2tog with lace weight yarn.
07/29/10 - I’m almost done with the first Bubble chart…just 4 rows left. I’m gonna try to get some WIP pics up in the morning.
07/28/10 - OMG! Finally done with Garter Section 1. That took way longer than I would have ever anticipated. I’ve done a few rows of the first chart and already love it!
Lattice section: row 2, rt of center stitch - ktog (right) & yo (left); row 2, l of center stitch - yo (right) & ktog (left)
