Test knitting this for Tori.

Notes:

I could use some practice on seaming. I guess I’ve never sewed a picot hem that wasn’t bound off. That’s hard! Fiddley. As a result, you can see that it got a little wonky in a spot.

Overall, this is such a great knit for such little effort. I love picot hems! Great pattern with excellent detailed instructions. This pattern is very customizable. I love the weight of this garment using lace weight yarn. This is going to be perfect on those evenings where the day temp was in the 90’s and the evening temp has dropped down to the 60’s. I can’t wait to wear this!

The hardest part was sewing down the neckband. I did it doing a three needle bind-off using the live stitch on the needle and picking up one stitch at the body’s edge where I started the neck band. That obviously was not fool proof. I’ll have to figure out a better way if I knit this again.

Now…I can’t decide if I want to knit something to run thru the eyelets, get a ribbon, or leave as is. I do like it as is. We’ll see…

06/03/10 - Knitting is done. This turned out super cute! It’s very feminine. I just need to weave in ends and block! I knit the collar to 4 inches before the turn row.

06/01/10 - I can’t wait to finish this! It’s so cute! I am 3.5” in to the collar before the turning row.

05/31/10 - Finished the right sleeve. Now just the neckband left to knit. Without the neckband it weighs 36 grams (approx 338 yds). Cuff to cuff 31 inches.

05/30/10 - I’m on the right sleeve now. I knit the body to 19.75”.

05/29/10 - I’ve got 14” of the body done. I love this! This is my first lace weight garment and I really like how light this is.

05/28/10 - I’m on the body now.

05/27/10 - Cast on 76 sts for Med.
